Minor Midget AE Win in Bradford

The Minor Midget AE Knights captured Gold at the Bradford Blue and Gold Tournament.  Ajax opened the Tournament with a convincing 4-1 win over TNT. 

Nick Iervasi led the charge with two goals assisted by Zack Zaduban and Alvin Trim. Simon Feig scored assisted by Hamza Naim and Josh Hall. Rounding out the scoring was Josh Hall assisted by Hamza Naim.

The second game was a physical and spirited game for the Knights. Ajax defeated Caledon Hawks 3-0. Michael Mouawad was stellar in net earning the shutout. Scoring for Ajax, Rielly Flynn assisted by Nick Iervasi, Hamza Naim assisted by Josh Hall and completing the scoring, Nick Iervasi unassisted.

The Knights then lost 1-0 against a strong Waterloo team.

In the final round robin game Ajax tied TNT 3-3. Rielly Flynn, Matthew Carpe and James Reid scored with Matthew Carpe, Alvin Trim and Rielly Flynn assisting. Ajax finished in second place in round robin play setting up a rematch against the Waterloo Wolves.

The first period was scoreless. Josh Hall opened the scoring in the second period assisted by Alvin Trim and Matthew Carpe. Waterloo replied with a goal in the third period to tie the game. The game went into triple overtime where the players were reduced from 4 on 4 to 3 on 3 to 2on 2. Waterloo received a major penalty allowing Ajax the man advantage. Matthew Carpe passed to Simon Feig who attacked the net with a free lane and sniped the winning goal over the goalies shoulder into the top shelf. Matthew Ferreira was a stone wall in net robbing Waterloo of many scoring chances and allowing Ajax a chance to win. Players for Ajax include, Blair Ballantine, Matthew Carpe, Simon Feig, Rielly Flynn, Matthew Ferreira, Josh Hall, Nick Iervassi, Jacob Komisar, John Mallare, Michael Mouawad, Hamza Naim, Sean O’Brien, Jaimin Panesar, James Reid, Scott Ryman, Alvin Trim, and Zack Zaduban. Coaches: Mike O’Brien, Scott Hall, Shaheen Mouawad, Brian Panesar, and George Komisar. Team Manager is Andrea Reid.
