Lockdown (Grey Zone) - Hockey Operations
Submitted By Carrie Reynolds on Tuesday, December 22, 2020
Season’s Greetings AMHA Members

As you are no doubt aware and given the announcement by the Provincial Government on December 21, 2020, the ever changing situation continues to evolve and the entire province will be placed in a grey zone (lockdown) effective December 26, 2020.  What does this mean for the AMHA and its members?

Effective December 26, 2020, the AMHA must pause all hockey operations.

As of Monday, December 21, 2020, the AMHA commenced its two (2) week Holiday Break (which was previously scheduled) but unfortunately, we will not be returning in early January as previously anticipated.  We are hopeful that this lockdown will provide sufficient time to see Durham return to either the Orange or Red zone wherein we will be able to safely resume hockey operations.

AMHA is optimistic that we will be able to continue with some form of hockey until March 2021.  We can advise that we have reached out to our governing body to inquire as to whether we may be able to extend the season until sometime in April and we are awaiting a response in that regard.

AMHA will endeavor to do their best to try and make up for missed ice time but currently we are unable to determine if this is possible given the fluid situation.

We do want to remind our members of our refund policy and we will not be considering cancellations or refunds during this time but it will be re-evaluated as we move forward.

Thank you for your support and understanding as we navigate through this very fluid situation and we hope to see everyone back on the ice soon.

We will continue to funnel all communication through the AMHA website, so please stay connected.

The AMHA and its Executives would like to wish the AMHA families a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and All the Best in 2021.  We hope that 2021 will bring some sort of normalcy back to our lives but in the meantime, stay vigilant and continue to stay safe.  Together we will get through this.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS KNIGHTS!!
