Minor Midget Select Wins Lefroy Icebreaker Tournament

Congratulations to the Minor Midget Select in winning the Lefroy Icebreaker Tournament this past weekend.  

The tournament started on Friday night in Innisfil, with the Knights taking on Halton Hills. They blasted off scoring their first goal within the first minute of the first period and didn't let up for the rest of the tournament.   Second game on Saturday was against Port Credit which they handily won 4-0 and then off to face York Mills. This game brought the Knights their first and only tie of the weekend, while also handing them the division title and a pass into the Finals.




The final was against the only team they didn't beat in round robin play; York Mills.   York Mills came flying out of the gate, scoring first in the first period. That didn't deter the players, they came right back to tie it up but didn't stop there. By the third period it was 4-1 for Ajax, York Mills tried to close in by scoring another on a power play in the third, but Ajax came back strong with another 2, winning the game 6-2.  The Knights went undefeated and brought home the Tournament Trophy.
