** Pre-School Development (Timbits) is a skills development program, for participants ages 3 and 4 years old. It is open to participants of all skill levels; no previous skating or hockey skills are required. The program runs on Saturday mornings, at the Ajax Community Centre. Full equipment is required (see “mandatory equipment” below). Participants will be contacted via email, the week prior to program start date with details of times and locations. The program is open to residents of Ajax.

This year the AMHA is happy to announce that Headstart Hockey for the Pre-School Development Program will continue.

Due to COVID-19 and the number cap, no parents will be allowed on the ice this season.  Headstart will provide the necessary staff and aides required.

The Headstart Hockey program is designed to teach younger players the fundamentals of hockey and provide them with the basic skills they require to begin their hockey careers. Headstart Hockey realizes the importance of teaching players at this young age and aims to give them the proper skills and knowledge to succeed throughout their hockey careers. Each and every instructor has a background in teaching players of this age group and are certified Canadian Hockey Initiation Program (CHIP) Instructors. This program will teach each player proper skating techniques, how to handle the puck and ultimately how to have fun while playing a game everyone in Canada knows and loves.  Headstart has the best ratio at least 4:1 or better (players: coaches).

Mandatory Equipment

  • CSA Certified Helmet
  • Tethered or Custom Dental mouthguard
  • Neck guard
  • Shoulder pads
  • Elbow pads
  • Gloves
  • Jock (boys) or jill (girls)
  • Pants
  • Shin guards
  • Skates
  • Stick

The league will supply a jersey for all house league players including Timbits.
