Continuance of AMHA Hockey & Updated Town of Ajax Protocols
Submitted By Carrie Reynolds on Friday, December 31, 2021
Please be advised the AMHA will be continuing with the 2021-2022 representative season starting January 2, 2022 as scheduled.  House League will commence Wednesday, January 5, 2022.

The Town of Ajax has issued updated protocols effective December 27, 2021.  Please familiarize yourself with these protocols to ensure a quick and efficient entrance into the facilities.

Facility access for ice user groups at the Ajax Community Centre:

  • Dressing rooms will be available to teams up to 20 minutes prior to the permitted time. This time will allow staff to complete cleaning and disinfecting of the dressing rooms between permits.
  • It is highly recommended that participants access through the arena entrance associated with their permit to limit the wait times as a result of the need to provide COVID-19 Proof of Vaccination.  Pad 4 (enter through the North doors)  Pad 3 (enter through the South doorsPads 1 and 2 (enter through the East doors)
  • Spectators are discouraged at this time with the exception of 1 parent or guardian accompanying a child. Spectators must enter at the same time as the participants and remain in the arena spectators viewing area/stands.  A maximum of 90 spectators per pad.  There will be no in/out privileges.

The following safety measures still remain in effect in addition to the QR Code requirement:

  • Complete Town of Ajax Screening for all patrons (players included) entering the facility.  Make sure to take a picture of the green check mark before submitting.   Town of Ajax Screening Link is TOA Screening
  • Effective January 4, 2022, requiring the use of the enhanced vaccine certificate with QR code.  This can be used digitally or by printing a paper copy
  • Proof of vaccination is required to enter Town of Ajax recreation facilities - patrons 12 years and older along with proof of identity which includes the name of the holder and date of birth (ie. Birth certificate, driver’s license, Government of Ontario or other issued identification including health card, citizenship card, TOA Youth Fast Pass, passport, etc.)
  • Proof of vaccination will be required for youth (12-17 years) actively participating in an organized sport along with proof of identity which includes the name of the holder and date of birth (ie. Birth certificate, driver’s license, Government of Ontario or other issued identification including health card, citizenship card, TOA Youth Fast Pass, passport, etc.)
  • For the purposes of participation in organized sports and recreational fitness activities, children turning 12 in 2022 will have a grace period of 12 weeks from their 12th birthday to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.  This allows for a reasonable opportunity for vaccination to be completed, and to accommodate the current recommended 8-week interval between dose one and dose two
  • Children may be required to provide identification at point of entry to indicate their age and their exemption from providing proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Masks must be worn at all times in Town of Ajax facilities, until you enter the ice surface.
  • All Food and drink is prohibited at this time, to promote continuous mask wearing.

Additional facility information:

  • Participants must bring their own water bottles.  Water bottle filling stations will not be available
  • Change rooms will be available (2 per timeslot)
  • Showers are NOT available to ensure wearing of masks in the dressing rooms
  • Team warm-ups are NOT permitted in the facility
  • Concessions are not available at this time

Thank you for your cooperation in regards to these updated safety protocols.
