Bantam AE Wins Lake Placid CanAm Tournament
Submitted By Carrie Reynolds on Friday, December 4, 2015
Congratulations to the Bantam AE for winning Gold in Lake Placid at the CanAm Tournament last weekend.  Not only did they go undefeated throughout the entire tournament, but Goalies, #1 Josh Bertschy and #34 Zachary Dowdall shut out every team they faced! The Knights started out Friday night, trotting away with a 2-0 victory against the Cornwall Colts, followed by a 6-0 win in their battle against the Canterbury Crusaders on Saturday morning. Later that evening, the boys pounced upon Long Island Icecats 8-0, thereby securing their spot in the finals.

In the skills competition, starter, #52 Kristian Keuper, #97 Connor Therriault, #27 Dakota Paterson and, anchor, #24 Nathan Hopper won the relay race and #77 Michael Boomer made a valiant effort in the shoot-out contest. In the chase for gold, the Knights clinched another victory (2-0) in their clash against the Crusaders. Not only did the team bring home the gold medal but they were upstanding representatives of Canada and Ajax, also winning the Fair Play Award.

Congratulations to the players, coaching staff and parents on an incredible weekend of good, clean hockey.

Go Knights Go!!!!
