Minor Atom AE Team Wins Justin Williams Cup Tournament
Submitted By Carrie Reynolds on Monday, September 21, 2015
Congratulations to the Minor Atom AE Knights in winning the Justin Williams Cup Tournament in Cobourg last weekend.  Game 1 was a fierce back and forth battle staying tied until mid-third where Stouffville; with the fresher legs pulled away with a 10-5 victory. Undaunted, the Ajax hockey stars came back in the afternoon and beat the host team 10-1 for the first win of the year. Saturday was a great battle with the Knights' divisional rival, the Oshawa Generals. The team managed to get an early lead and keep it for another win; 8-2. That set the team up for a rematch with Oshawa the next morning in the semi-final. Ajax was trailing 2-1 heading into the third before the kids stepped up and managed to pull out a great comeback 5-3 win.

Off to the finals against the power house Stouffville Clippers. After losing to the Clippers in the Knights' first game, they were ready to show them a different team. It was a close and physical game but the team pulled ahead with 5 minutes left. The6 player defence stepped up, shutting Stouffville down for an incredible 4-3 victory.

Congratulations to the team, coaching staff and parents.  Go Knights Go!!!!!
